Manager of AI Engineering
Connie Sun is a Manager of AI Engineering at Shield AI. She leads the Trajectory Planning and Control team. Prior to joining Shield AI, Connie worked on guidance and control for fixed wing UAVs at Northrop Grumman Corporation and thrust vector control for the first stage solid rocket booster for the Space Launch System at ATK. Connie earned her BS in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech, and her Masters in Aerospace Engineering with focus on Dynamics and Control from Purdue University. While pursuing her studies, Connie interned at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) working on potential landing site hazard evaluation for the Curiosity rover.

In the small hours of a recent Monday morning, I found myself up at 13000 ft, trudging through a snow chute on the way to Mt. Whitney with two colleagues and absolutely zero mountaineering experience.
