Manager of AI Engineering
Sam Khalandovsky is a Manager of AI Engineering at Shield AI. He leads the Global Reasoning and Executive Planning team. Sam has experience in planning and control across a variety of platforms, particularly self-driving cars. Before joining Shield AI, Sam spent time at comma.ai, a startup focused on retrofitting existing cars to be self-driving. Prior to that, Sam worked at MIT Lincoln Laboratory where he focused on novel localization methods for self-driving vehicles. Sam earned his BS and MS degrees in Robotics Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where, for his capstone project, he led a team in the development of planning and controls algorithms for dynamic walking on a bipedal robot.
